The reason why former Shooting Stars Head Coach Edith Olumide Agoye’s international coaching course is delayed has been revealed.
Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde
Recall that the Oyo state governor Engr Seyi Makinde through the chairman of Shooting Stars, Hon Babatunde Olaniyan fondly called ‘Akoro’ in his acknowledgement and acceptance letter to Edith Olumide Agoye’s resignation promised to send Agoye to United Kingdom for higher coaching course while all expenses will be footed by the state government.

However, OyoSportsNews has exclusively gathered that Edith Agoye’s trip to the UK will longer happen this year.
In a monitored sports radio programme anchored by Kenny Ogunmiloro ‘Radio Friend’ on Wednesday aired on Fresh FM 105.9 – Ibadan station. Edith Agoye explained why his trip was delayed.
“Yes, the state government has promised to send me abroad for coaching course but in the course of our findings, we (together with 3SS management) got to know that date for the online registration is over and the trip can’t be possible. If this will happen, we must wait till next year – I think by April or May, to register and make payments. We all saw it together with Shooting Stars management and there is nothing we could do that to wait. I also think it is advisable I engage myself before next year and that was how Sunshine Stars job came in.”

Asked if the state government will redeem her pledge, Agoye replied:
“We all know Engr Seyi Makinde as a sports loving governor, who also keep and fulfill promises, the trip is to appreciate my little efforts with the club. He will redeem the pledge, that I can say.” He concluded.
