Shooting Stars new Head Coach Gbenga Ogunbote, who made his third return to the club has revealed that he considered quitting Remo Stars at the modseaso of Nigeria Professional Football League 2021/22 season but turned down the deal on two major reasons.
The Oracle as fondly called told OyoSportsNews that some major factors hindered the mid season switch and he had no regrets.
“I was approached to come by some stakeholders to come at the mid-season but I said no because of some reasons. Firstly, it won’t be fair to leave a South-West team for another – considering the how we understand football in Nigeria and the consequences.
“The former Rangers Enugu and Sharks soccer tactician added that technical crew of the Oluyole Warriors under former head coach Edith Olumide Agoye deserved to be respected as a junior colleague in the round leather game.
“‘You want me to call him my boy? No I won’t. Edith Agoye is a brother, though a junior colleague. He doesn’t deserved to sack or disgrace because I understand the nature of this job.”Meanwhile, Shooting Stars have officially declared camp open for players and officials ahead next season and in preparations for Pre-season Tournaments.
