Shooting Stars new Head Coach Gbenga Ogunbote has spoken about his return to the club for the third time, after the club management and stakeholders unveiled him officially on Monday.
OyoSportsNews exclusively gathered Ogunbote pen a year deal with Oluyole Warriors after negotiations were agreed by the club management, sports legal practitioner, Barrister Jubril Mohammed and Gbenga Ogunbote.
Asked why he made a return to the club after four years, Ogunbote said he’s absolutely excited about his return to a club with rich histories and traditional.
“Shooting Stars is one of the best club in Nigeria with rich histories and wonderful traditional. I’ve been here before and I don’t think I have problems during my last two appointments. I think when you did very well, people will want you back.”
“My appointment this third time is to ensure Shooting Stars return to her winning ways and put smiles on the faces of all lovers of the club. To the glory of God, I’ve delivered continental ticket to six clubs and rescued three teams from relegation. I can only say Shooting Stars will end up in a appreciable position this coming season.”
On how he intends to work with the major stakeholders in the state to achieve his dream, Ogunbote said.
People know the person I am, I kept a fantastic relation with the technical crew, club management, government and stakeholders, and it’s something that makes me proud to be back. Not just because of the professional I am, I believe so because of the person I am.
“Meanwhile, Shooting Stars players and officials have been told to resume camp today ahead of ValueJet Preseason Tournament slated for Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State from August 24th to September 3rd.
