“I would say the journey is the will of God, I had a deep thinking to leave Shooting Stars after Kano Pillars’ match on matchday 38 in Kano but there were some factors I had to consider before doing that. After meeting with the Gov Seyi Makinde, and with unanimous agreement. I decided to leave the stage. I think it is the best and perfect time to take the decision. While these were going on, I also monitored news from the media, while other clubs are also monitoring the impending availability of my services; – and it happened.”
“I got a direct call from the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Ondo State, Mr Bamidele Ologun and I was told to come for official discussion. I also met with some stakeholders in Ondo State to discuss the synergy of the new journey and the deal worked.
“Eshin as fondly called told Fresh FM 105.9 Ibadan station how important his sudden move to the Owena Waves’ meant to his career.
“My move to Sunshine Stars is a big recognition of my family name, I’m from Akoko in Ondo state; my mum and dad are form Akoko but from different sub-town area. It is a great privilege to return home and to my origin.”
The former Shooting Stars player and Ila FC coach who spent a total of nine years as an assistant and head coach with the Oluyole Warriors also reflected on his best and bad moments with Shooting Stars.
“No doubt, my best moment was at the Nigeria National League 2020/2021 season where we got promoted in September 2021 at Enugu. Though in 2013/2012, we achieved same feat but as assistant coach”.
“My lowest point was in 2016/2017 season when we got relegated under Head Coach Fatai Amoo. That was the blemish I had with Shooting Stars.” He concluded.
