CROWN FC DOWNS NNEWI UNITED WITH EMPHATIC 3-0 WIN

A first half goal by Yussuf Taiye and two second half goals from Dauda Olalere and Oginni Olatunbosun earned Crown FC a win at the LAUTECH football pitch, Ogbomoso as the Nigeria National League Group B2 came to an end.

The Ajilete Warriors, though missed out the promotion race on the last day but had a good season after a decent unbeaten home record and six points on the road.

With some calculations and permutations before the match, Bayelsa United defeated Cynosure FC to top the table and secure the only ticket in group B2.Nnewi United despite having nothing to lose or gain with the outcome of the match, gave thier best at the first half but Yussuf Taiye’s 21st minute header separated the two sides before halftime.

The Ajilete Warriors, after sixteen minutes of action into the second half doubled the tally courtesy of Dauda Olalere’s fine finish, the black lanky forward registered his name on the score sheet via Oginni Olatunbosun’s solo cross.

Crown top scorer and penalty taker, Oginni Olatunbosun also got himself on the list from the spot to round off the season with 3-0 win of visiting Nnewi United.

Speaking to OyoSportsNews after the match, Crown FC Head Coach Anthony Encho is proud of players and overall performance of the team and final position on the log. The Cameroonian soccer tactician believes the players did thier best to ensuring the promotion ticket is achieved but Bayelsa United are lucky to gain the ticket.

“Our mission is to secure promotion ticket but I can boldly say we did our best from the matchday one to the last fixture. It was a difficult season but we are still grateful to God. I want specially the club management, my entire coaching staff and most importantly the fans and supporters”.

“Though we faced some financial difficulties but the management did their best to motivate the players. By next season, things will be alright for us”.
