Former Shooting Stars Head Coach Edith Olumide Agoye will have plenty of clubs interested in his services after he leaves the job, according to a Shooting Stars UK fan base, Akande Olaniyi Ajorosun.Coach Agoye, a former player of the Ibadan soccer lords, quitted as the chief tactician of the Oluyole Warriors on Tuesday, after a nine-year spell both as an assistant coach and the head coach. As an assistant coach, he worked under coaches Franklin Howard (2014/15), Gbenga Ogunbote (2015/16) and Fatai Amoo (2016/17), before he was named the head coach during the 2017/18 season, the position he held till he resigned on Tuesday.

Akande Olaniyi Ajorosun, a strong 3SC fan since early 70’s told oyosportsnews.com.ng that Edith Agoye is still very active, ready to work and learn and has paid his dues in Nigeria football with the job of Shooting Stars. He described Agoye as a retired player and active coach who also has the knowledge of the game.Apart from guiding the team to pick a promotion ticket back to the elite league in the 2020/21 season, after four unsuccessful attempts, the former Ila FC and Gateway United gaffer, led 3SC to a historic eight consecutive victories in the Nigeria National League (NNL), enroute the team’s qualification for the play off in Enugu, where the team eventually secured promotion to the elite league.

Like Pep Guardiola, like Edith Agoye

“Over the last four days, I know for a fact that he has approached by some of the clubs in the Nigeria league – may be NPFL or NNL clubs. I’m not speaking on his behalf and I don’t have his direct line but I’ve been a fan of Agoye since his playing days and I love his philosophy as a coach.“Anyone who had listened to Agoye’s pre and post match presser would agree with me that he’s very sound and knows his job. He’s so aptly and eloquently and understands modern day football. His decision to step down had vindicated him. Ajorosun said.

“His style of play, his mannerism, the way he has conducted himself, his integrity, his honesty, the way he handles players, his concern for young squad are advantages to his profile. Ajorosun added.Meanwhile, Akande Olaniyi Ajorosun also suggested that the former Gateway United FC and ILA FC need a short break from football related activities. He noted that Agoye should see this period as annual leave, though without benefits.
